2024 was a year defined by the GenAI boom, marked by a wave of product launches—some achieving success, while others fell short.
As 2025 approaches, this Workshop is designed to guide technical teams through the planning and design phase of building GenAI products, equipping them with the framework and insights needed to structure successful projects and avoid common pitfalls.
Intended for a technical audience, this workshop is intended for machine learning practitioners, technical product managers, and technical leaders looking to enhance their GenAI project planning and development capabilities.
Participants will learn best practices and frameworks for structuring projects, from business need identification to finding the right tools and techniques for their use case – all with a view to how they can design a product with minimal risks and a path to production.
We will help participants outline business needs and success metrics while bridging the gap with technical requirements across the ML lifecycle, including data, evaluation metrics, experimental plans, cost and performance estimates, and integration and monitoring.
We’ll then break into interactive breakout rooms to discuss the topics covered in the first session. Participants will dive deeper into the topics, exchange ideas, and gain insights from both experienced leaders and fellow practitioners.

The AI product Showcase will feature lightning demos and a panel discussion with top product and machine learning experts who have successfully deployed GenAI projects.
These practitioners will walk through real-life examples of designing and launching a GenAI product, giving participants insights they can apply practically.
The workshop is intended for a technical audience: ML or data developers, engineers, scientists, and managers as well as product managers. However, anyone who wants to learn more about these topics can join.
You don’t need to bring anything. However, to get the best out of the workshop coming in with some ideas or projects you have in the works would be helpful. We recommend using the design doc template we share to build on this idea and take it into the new year.
Yes! You’ll be invited to all the sessions and we recommend attending all of them to get the best experience, but you’re welcome to attend just one.
If you’ve registered, we’ll provide links to the recordings as well.
Yes - it’s all virtual.
Just the 3 hours of the workshop.
No. This workshop is primarily focused on education and to help you plan out future projects in this space. You are of course more than welcome to apply the ideas and concepts discussed to your projects during or after the workshop!
